The first night of our volunteer blitz went pretty well. We had 16 small groups of 4 to 5 kids each. Most were good but a couple of or new volunteers had sort of a baptism of fire. This ministry is not like any other. There were some great things that happened though.
In one group a student opened up about thinking of suicide. We will be following up.
In another group a volunteer spent a long time talking to a kid who just really needed someone to listen. That was after the rest left.
I got to meet a couple of new refugee kids who were really neat. They go through so much and love to come to club.
We have had between 75 and 90 kids for some time now. God is doing great things!
